79 – Third Commandment


THIRD COMMANDMENT

§ 79. The Law condemns all those who neglect the proper use of the Word of God and the Sacraments, especially when and where they are publicly administered, or who fail to contribute toward the maintenance of the church and the furtherance of its purposes.


John 5:39 Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me.

John 8:47 He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

Colossians 3:16 Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalm and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
