 §  176. The temporal death of the wicked is a consequence 1 and punishment 2 of sin, and the transition of the soul spiritually dead into eternal death.3.

  Romans 5:12 By one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.

  Romans 5:17 By one man’s offence death reigned by one.

  Romans 5:21 Sin hath reigned unto death.

  Romans 6:23 The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life.

  Ezekiel 18:20, 26 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son. (26) For his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.

  Ezekiel 33:18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.
