53 – Immediate External Acts

IMMEDIATE EXTERNAL ACTS

§ 53. The immediate external acts of God are concurrent acts of the three Persons in the Trinity terminating in objects not within the Godhead, and performed without the employment of intermediate or instrumental causes. Acts of this kind are the creation of heaven and earth out of nothing, the immediate revelation of divine truth to the prophets, the suggestion of concepts and words to the inspired penmen, etc.
