SIGNS OF THE LAST TIMES
§ 179. The predicted 1 second visible 2 advent of Christ may be expected at any time, 3 since all the signs which are to remind us of His coming 4 have been fulfilled or are still in process of fulfillment, 5 Antichrist is come and has been revealed in the Roman pontiff, 6 and the last times are doubtless upon the world. 7

Matthew 26:64 Hereafter shall ye see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
Acts 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven.
Matthew 25:31 When the Son of Man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory.
Matthew 24:30 Then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Luke 12:40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of Man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.

Luke 21:26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth.
Mark 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; inasmuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Matthew 24:37–39 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be.
I Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.
Luke 21:24, 25 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring.
Matthew 24:14, 34 And this Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. (34) Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
6. …Antichrist is come and has been revealed in the Roman pontiff,
I John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists: whereby we know that it is the last time. C Cf. 4:3.
II Thessalonians 2:3–4, 8–11 That day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. (8–11) And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming: even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.

7. …and the last times are doubtless upon the world.
I John 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists: whereby we know that it is the last time.
Luke 18:8 I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of Man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?
I Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
I Peter 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
